Born in Vancouver, Alma practiced gymnastics from the age of two. She moved to Montreal to study circus arts and received her Diploma of Collegial Studies in Circus Arts from L’École Nationale de Cirque in April 2010. During the three years of the program she learned swinging trapeze with Victor Fomin and has worked with Gypsy Snider, Estelle Clareton, Alain Francoeur and Shana Carrol. Her most recent show was Ich Bin, an interdisciplinary show directed by Peter James, which was performed at the TOHU in Montreal in 2010 and she currently represents Nat Harris Entertainment performing on P&O’s Pacific Pearl cruise ship.

Alma’s swinging trapeze act demonstrates a unique sensual style grounded by strong presence and high technical precision. Inspired by cabaret and old Hollywood, her performance draws from the history of this traditional discipline with contemporary insight.
