Melanie

Melanie has been dancing for over twenty years in the forms of classical ballet, theatre jazz, tap and contemporary. In 2001 she received a Ballet Scholarship from the BAL British Ballet Australia ltd for receiving one of the five highest marks in her Ballet examination from Australia and New Zealand. Since then she has worked overseas with Princess Cruises as a featured dancer, and has also worked on shows such as Australian Idol, Home and Away, Underbelly and East West 101. She did Countdown Spectacular touring in NSW working with old Classic Aussie rock stars such as Choir boys, John Paul Young and Cheetahs in 2006. She has also worked in many Cabaret shows in Sydney and interstate as both a dancer and circus artist. For the last ten years, Melanie has trained in the arts of acrobatics adagio and tumbling as well as aerial skills in silks and aerial sling. Currently Melanie works in a number of shows for various Cabaret groups as both a dancer and circus artist.

Melanie has over 7 years of intense training in aerial silks and has developed a strong passion for it. In the last year she has performed in various clubs and cooperate events around Sydney and Australia as a circus artist. She Specialises in silks, aerial sling, adagio, tumbling and hula hooping.

Melanie is a strong and elegant dancer in the genres of Jazz, Commercial and Lyrical. In her professional career Melanie worked for Princess cruises, Australia Idol, Countdown Spectacular, Slide Bar, Seany B “ Just be good to me” music clip, Hooley Dooleys, is a resident dancer for Cheeky Entertainment and Arch Dancers and works as a show girl in various locations around Sydney and Australia. Melanie has a wide range of experience performing in corporate gigs, commercial dance, and television. Melanie specializes in dance, aerial silks, sling, and acro adagio. Her work is fierce and exciting with a touch of elegance.

The Bodyrockers (Melanie and Amanda) have been working together professionally for just over a year in various shows and corporate gigs. Both girls have over ten years experience in acrobatics and tumbling. They currently reside in Sydney and work in many cabaret shows as featured circus ground artist. They have impressed audiences with their lifts, flexibility, tumbling and dance skills in their routines. Their routines range from cheeky cute to fierce and explosive!

Melanie is a self taught hula hoop artist. She combines dance and acro to her ground act. She started performing as a solo artist for Slide’s resident show ‘El Circo’ in 2007/08 as a hula hoop artist. Currently she is a featured artist for ‘Burlesque Spectacular’ that performs all over NSW and does coperate functions as well and was a guest featured artist for ‘Undercover’ wear catwalk show in 2012. |
